Embryoscope: How can it increase the chances of IVF success?
In short EmbryoScope is a new-generation incubator used in IVF treatment. It enables automated, continuous monitoring and assessment of embryo development.
In short EmbryoScope is a new-generation incubator used in IVF treatment. It enables automated, continuous monitoring and assessment of embryo development.
A standard procedure in an IVF laboratory is to culture embryos in incubators. This provides the embryos with:
Embryo culture begins once the egg and sperm have been brought together. During the culture period, the embryos are observed under a microscope at appropriate intervals and assessed for a range of characteristics that determine their developmental potential.
With conventional incubators, the embryologist briefly removes the embryo from the incubator several times to assess its developmental progress under laboratory conditions. In an EmbryoScope, however, embryos remain inside the incubator continuously, from fertilization until embryo transfer or freezing. This provides them with stable conditions, including an appropriate temperature and gas concentrations. As a result, they are not exposed to even minor environmental changes that can occur when embryos are removed from an incubator.

EmbryoScope is equipped with built-in cameras and microscopes that enable detailed observation of all stages of cell division.
The modern EmbryoScope+ system can simultaneously monitor up to 240 embryos, with each embryo cultured on a special dish in its own individual microwell.
Based on the information collected, embryologists can select the embryo with the most promising developmental potential and the greatest chance of resulting in a normally developing pregnancy. EmbryoScope may therefore help increase the chances of IVF success, reduce the risk of miscarriage, and lower the likelihood of multiple pregnancies.
EmbryoScope can be used by all couples undergoing IVF treatment. At Klinika Bocian in Białystok, Warsaw, Katowice, Poznań, Szczecin, Lublin, Łódź, Rzeszów, Kielce, and Gdańsk, the cost of the service is PLN 1,150.
