The man at registration receives a sterile container for a semen sample. Infertility treatment clinic has a specially prepared room in which the patient provides his semen. The room has a TV with movies and magazines.
Step 2/3
Semen diagnostics
The analytical laboratory is located next to the room for men, semen sample can be analysed immediately. Thus, the material collected is not exposed to adverse external conditions and it is maintained at the correct temperature.
Step 3/3
Result after 3 hours
The waiting time for the result is approximately 3 hours from the time the material is delivered to the analytical laboratory. You can easily check the results online , on your patient panel or pick up in person at the clinic.

DNA Fragmentation – halosperm
The examination assesses damage of the genetic material. The sperm cell nucleus contains chromatin, which consists primarily of DNA. The test allows male fertility to be determined more thoroughly and verify the percentage of sperm that may have damage in genetic material.
HBA test
The test determines sperm ability to bind with hyaluronic acid The HBA test allows sperm maturity and readiness to fertilise the ovum to be checked. Only fully mature sperm has the ability to bind with hyaluronic acid (hyaluronate).
Examination of the oxidation-reduction potential of semen
the balance between the creation of reactive oxygen species and their removal from the organisms. Elevated oxidation results in damage to the DNA and the sperm proteins, adversely affecting the performance of enzymes in the cell, as well as morphology and motility of the sperm cells.

It is recommended to refrain from sex (specifically, from ejaculation) for 2 to 7 days prior to testing.
During a few days before the test, the patient should not drink alcohol.
You may be asked to provide information about substance use, medications administered, as well as any injuries in the area of testicles.

Should I have lab order for the semen test?
You should not have lab order to do semen test at Klinika Bocian. You just need to book an appointment at the clinic.
Can semen culture be performed together with semen analysis?
Standard semen analysis doesn't cover semen culture which is microbiological test and require culture of microorganisms. It can be done at the clinic additionally.
What should I do if I receive bad result of semen test?
The result of semen test which is outside of normal range can be caused by many factors. We recommend to consult it with andrologist or infertility specialists.
